I often receive enquiries from people asking "Why do I dream so much all of a sudden?" Certain people enter into a stage where they suddenly start dreaming more frequently and intensively for weeks, months or even years. Entering into such a dreaming stage can be demanding for the individual and learning to cope with dreaming a lot more frequently can be challenging. As someone who entered into an Intensive Dreaming Stage over ten years ago now, I can help guide people through this process and help them discover why they have entered into this important dreaming stage.
What Is An 'Intensive Dreaming Stage?
An Intensive Dreaming Stage is firstly identified with a signficant increase in the intensity of your dreaming experience. This includes:
- Dreaming more frequently, a significant increase in the number of dreams you are experiencing/remembering. It is common among the people I work with to be remembering between 2 to 5 dreams most nights.
- Vivid Dreams become more common during this stage. Vivid dreams often indicate that the dreams have significant archetypal content and because of this, the dreamer will feel an increased intensity from the dream. As part of the dreamwork we prioritise working with vivid dreams.
- An Intensive Dreaming Stage can often occur in the early stages of a Spiritual Awakening or Expansion Of Consciousness.
- An Intensive Dreaming Stage can often occur during what the individual may consider is a Midlife Crisis. In midlife, dreams can play a pivotal role in trying to redirect the individual's life to a new, more fulfilling direction.
- An Intensive Dreaming Stage can often occur when the individual is experiencing a Spiritual Crisis or Religious Crisis, which is ultimately a crisis in one's own faith. In these vital times in our life when our spiritual/religious beliefs need rejuvenation or renewal, our dreaming activity often increases as a means of opening up new horizons of spiritual/religious understanding. Please see Spiritual And Religious Dreams.
- The dreamer experiences more lucid/twilight moments during their dreams. Many begin experiencing lucid dreaming states for the first time.
- Experiencing other dream states that are often new to the dreamer. This can include twilight/hypnogogic dreams, remote viewing and astral projection.
- 'Other Worldly' dreams usually start appearing early in this stage. They feel other worldly because they contain transpersonal/archetypal symbols and narratives.
How I Work With People Who Are Experiencing An Intensive Dreaming Stage
- If you are experiencing a stage of intense dreaming, please feel free to Contact me and we can set up a free Zoom session where we can discuss what you are experiencing to see if I may be able to help you.
- Over two or three sessions, we focus on discovering why you have entered this important dreaming stage at this time in your life. We will go through your dreams, especially vivid dreams and I will identify important dreams that will help us towards finding answers. We will also identify important times/pathways in your life which is an important part of understanding why you are experiencing an Intensive Dreaming Stage.
- When we arrive at a better understanding of what this intensive stage of dreaming means for you, we can then set up a personalised plan of how to work best with the significant amount of dreams you are experiencing. This will include learning to interpret your own dreams using Jungian Dream Interpretation which is vital to learn for individuals experiencing an Intensive Dreaming Stage. (Please see my page on Learn Dream Interpretation Using Your Own Dreams for more information)
- When someone suddenly starts dreaming a lot more frequently and more vividly, this is often an Inner-Calling from the Unconscious (where our dreams are created). It is an invitation from the deeper part of you to focus more of your life on the Inner World. It will open the individual up to the opportunity for profound Inner-Work and realisations. In the truest sense, it offers the greatest possibility to ‘Know Thyself’. In the most practical sense, when working with our dreams in the right way, dreamwork provides the individual with greater confidence in the past, present and what is possible in the future.
- The Intensive Dream Stage sessions are 90 minutes long and the charge is $120 AUD per session.
