Jungian Psychology more than any other psychology values dreams as immensely important in working with the individual. Jungian Psychology is a deeply religious/spiritual psychology that not only works with Inner-Callings, but it also serves as a guide and map for the Inner World where our dreams originate from.
Vivid Dreams
Many people experience vivid dreams at various times in their life. When searching the internet for what causes vivid dreams, the majority of websites detail all the physical/environmental factors that can cause vivid dreams and completely exclude the possibility that something very important is taking place within the individual. Many vivid dreams are vivid and emotionally charged so that the dream can be remembered with as much detail as possible. This remembering then allows us to work through the themes and symbols within the dream so that we can understand its meaning and act upon it.
Dreams As Part Of A Spiritual Awakening
The goal or telos of Dream Psychology is to allow over the course of our lives for the ego (the conscious aspect of ourselves) to move ever closer to the deeper centre of our minds/psyches – the Self. We call this process "individuation”. Working and coming to understand our dreams greatly helps bridge the gap between ego and Self. Bridging this gap allows for the possibility of an authentic spiritual awakening.
